How to Schedule Shutdown of Windows 7 computer at a future time?

1. Click start button in windows 7, and then type taskchd.msc in the search box and press Enter key. It will start the Task Scheduler program as shown

2. Click on "Creat Basic Task" link in the right sidebar of this window. " Create Basic Task Wizard" window
      will appear on the screen.

3.Write  name for this task in the Name field (and also write an appropriate description if you like), and then click "Next" button.

4. On the next screen of the wizard, under "Trigger" heading,(i.e.,"when do you want the task to start?"), Select the "One Time" option, since we want the scheduled shutdown to occur only once. Click Next button on this screen also.

5. On the next screen, under the trigger-> one time heading, select the date and time when you want to schedule shutdown of your computer. Then click on Next

6.On the next screen under Action heading, (i.e.,(what action do you want the task to perform"). Select "start a program" option. Click on "Next" button again.

7. On the next screen, under the Action->Start a program heading, type shutdown in program/script field
8.  Click Next button again, and in the next screen, you’ll be shown your settings so that you can review them. Click Finish button to save your settings and schedule the shutdown task as per your chosen settings.
That’s it! Windows 7 will now automatically shutdown your computer at the scheduled time / date (for example, if you had set 2 hours’ time for shutdown, it will shutdown after 2 hours automatically). Before shutdown, Windows will display the following warning message (“You are about to be logged off” – “Windows will shut down in less than a minute”
